Corel Asia Pacific Digital Art Competition 2010, April 22 - August 31, 2010

With more than 3000 entries from over 11 countries in the 2009 Competition, the Corel Asia Pacific Digital Art Competition is one of the largest in Asia. With over 150 prizes totaling over $40,000 USD it is also one of the richest.

Creating art is a powerful form of expression. Corel’s graphics and digital media software provide a rich set of tools to express your creativity. Whether you are a seasoned designer or an aspiring artist, we hope you will take advantage of this opportunity to share your ideas and vision.

There are two entry Categories: Open and Student. Entries must be produced with Corel software and may be static works of art or videos that promote a concept.

The competition runs from April 22, 2010 to August 31, 2010 and is open to entrants from the Asia Pacific region. Winners will be announced October 15, 2010. Winning entries will be featured on the Corel Website!

ELIGIBILITY / PERSYARATAN

The competition is open to residents of the Asia Pacific region including Australia, China, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, New Zealand, Philippines, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand and Vietnam.
Eligible Contestants may submit entries in one of the two following categories:

(a) Open Category

Anyone who is a resident of Australia, China, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, New Zealand, Philippines, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand, and Vietnam (the “Region”) is qualified to register and participate in this competition. Employees, representatives and agents of Corel Corporation, its subsidiaries and affiliates (“Corel”) and their immediate families (those living in the same household) are ineligible to participate. The Contest is subject to all federal, local, provincial, state and governmental laws, rules and regulations. Contestants must be over 18 years of age or older in Australia, China, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, New Zealand, Philippines, Singapore, and 20 years of age in Japan, South Korea, Taiwan and Thailand (the “Age of Majority”) dependant on the jurisdiction in which they reside. Contestants having not yet reached the Age of Majority must obtain the consent of a parent or legal guardian to be eligible to enter. The Contest is void where prohibited by law, rule or regulation.

Student entries are limited to students currently enrolled in a government accredited academic institution in the Region as defined above. Corel reserves the right to request proof of student status for Student entries. Immediate family members (those living in the same household) with Corel employees are ineligible to participate. The Contest is subject to all federal, local, provincial, state and governmental laws, rules and regulations. Contestants must be over the Age of Majority in the jurisdiction in which they reside. Contestants having not yet reached the Age of Majority must obtain the consent of a parent or legal guardian to be eligible to enter. The Contest is void where prohibited by law, rule or regulation.

If you are a student, you may make entries into the Open category but you may not also make submissions in the Student category.

Non-students must submit entries in the Open category.

(c) Age of Majority

It is a condition of entry that Contestants (1) have reached the Age of Majority as defined above, or (2) have obtained the consent of their parent or legal guardian to enter the Contest and that they shall be required to provide Corel with the written consent of their parent or legal guardian before being deemed a finalist or the official winner.

DURATION

The Contest is open continuously from 2400h EST on April 22, 2010 to 2359h, EST on August 31, 2010. Corel’s computer is the official time keeping device for the receipt of entries for this Contest.

PRIZE SELECTION

The 79 prize winners will be selected from among all eligible entries received by a panel of judges, to be held on or about October 15, 2010, conducted by Corel or its designee. Winners will be chosen by the decision of the judges of the promotion, whose decisions will be final in respect of any matters relating to the promotion. Entries will be judged on artistic ability, composition and creativity.
